Procedure Scheduler ~ Utica Park Clinic Pain Management

The UPC Pain Management location is currently looking for a member to join our team! The Procedure Scheduler will report directly to the Office Manager and will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and customer service activities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Want to make a difference? The ideal team member will:

  • Demonstrate appropriate documentation of any calls made to the patient

  • Accurately schedule patients, coordinate equipment, instrumentation, specific departments and physicians

  • Ability to negotiate procedure times with physicians, office staff, patients, and specific departments

  • Coordinate the scheduling of supportive services, enabling all procedures to be completed in a timely manner

  • Block physician schedules while evaluating for daily openings, changes, and conflicts

  • Schedule all pre-admission visits, coordinating them with patient needs, and physician offices

  • Enter scheduling information into the system in a timely and accurate manner

  • Notify the department manager of any pertinent information or potential problems in regards to schedules

  • Monitor all possible conflicts involved with scheduling surgical procedures in a manner that creates a smooth flow for the patients and surgeons through the surgical experience

  • Distribute surgery schedules to all pertinent hospital departments

  • Use keyboarding skills with consistent accuracy

  • Demonstrate the ability to asses and interpret data about the patients in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, young adult, middle-aged, and geriatric patient groups.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Previous medical office experience preferred

SKILLS

Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge, and a basic understanding of insurance, referrals and medical records. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
